Marijuana Charges Dismissed In San Francisco After Police Testimony Contradicts Video Evidence

McLaren Wenzell, 23, was arrested on March 1 after a police search revealed four pounds of marijuana. As of right now, there is a scandal in San Francisco where the testimony of police officers (or their accounts of events) is different from the videotaped evidence. As of right now, 76 cases have been dismissed. This has also spurred an FBI investigation.
The officers stated that they had their badges visible when the asked for consent to search Wenzell's apartment. Wenzell admitted to having marijuana in the apartment, but provided a prescription drug for it. They also claimed that the defendant gave them permission to enter the apartment and conduct a search of the apartment. However, video evidence clearly demonstrated that the officers just followed the defendant inside and he did not expressly give consent.
