One suspect made it all the way to eastern Texas from Georgia before being caught by the authorities. The husband of a lawyer that was shot multiple times is now in custody on several charges including injury with intent to murder. The victim, A.P., was found shot eight times in her home in Sandy Springs. Three of the shots sustained were to her head. Although she is still alive, the victim is in critical condition and has been unable to speak with the investigators. At this time, the police are still trying to establish a motive for her murder. However, based on their investigation, the detectives have pinpointed her husband, M.P., as their primary suspect. He is facing charges of aggravated battery and
assault, giving false statements in writing and
possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.
M.P. was detained during a traffic stop in Van Zandt County. When the Texan officers ran his information, they found that there were multiple warrants out for his arrest from Georgia. M.P. is currently being held in a Van Zandt jail until he can be extradited back to the state of Georgia.
