A Dallas man was sentenced to 20 years of incarceration after robbing a victim at the Plano mall. The suspect was allegedly armed at the time of the robbery. The 27-year-old with the initials A.D. committed his crime almost one year ago on June 13th, 2012. He supposedly approached a car that was parked in the mall lot and demanded that the driver give him money. He was accompanied by another individual.
Both suspects were wearing sunglasses and black hoodies at the time of the robbery, and both carried pistols. After threatening the driver at the mall, they stole his money and drove off in a brown Mercury Marquis. The victim called 911 and described the getaway vehicle. The police were able to track the car because they had the license plate number. As a result, they were able to trace the vehicle to A.D., and now the offender will serve two decades for his crime. His accomplice, a younger brother with the initials C.D., was also arrested and is set to go to trial in July for the crime.
Supposedly, the men were able to steal a single $100 bill from the victim in the robbery. A.D. has a previous conviction on his record for intent to deliver a controlled substance. He is serving a 20 year sentence, but will be eligible for parole in 10 years.
