A man was walking through a parking lot by a bar when he was struck by an intoxicated driver that was pulling out of the lot. The victim died on Easter Sunday from his critical injuries. Police say that there are additional charges pending against the car's driver because of the individual's death. Originally, the suspect was charged with driving while intoxicated and being in an accident involving injury. Now that the victim has died, his penalties may increase. The driver is in a Collin County Jail awaiting his trial.
Police investigations suggest that the driver was in a white sedan that struck several pedestrians in the bar parking lot before driving away. The man was arrested a short time later when he was driving along the Central Expressway. Two of the pedestrians hit by the car were treated at the scene for minor injuries and two others were hospitalized.
