A man from Corpus Christi, Texas was sentenced to life in prison after
he was convicted of helping to run a drug ring and concealing the proceeds
through cattle and vehicle auctions. A federal judge in the area sentenced
the 55-year-old man to a life in prison and required him to forfeit three
properties and may a $500,000 judgment. The jurors in March convicted
the individual of conspiracy to commit drug trafficking, conspiracy to
launder money and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The prosecuting team says that the Texas man helped to smuggle methamphetamine,
heroin and cocaine from Mexico and up through Brownsville, Texas, McAllen,
or Laredo. The drugs were stored on the various properties owned by this
individual and then distributed form those locations to interested buyers.
There are more than 20 drug ring co-conspirators that were sentenced to
