USCIS Accepting Credit Cards for Naturalization Fees

Are you interested in applying for U.S. citizenship? Well, recently the process got a little easier. On Nov. 16, 2015, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services issued a reminder stating that people can use credit cards to pay their naturalization application fees.

So, if you or someone you love is interested in applying for U.S. citizenship, the USCIS is accepting credit cards to pay the Form N-400, Application for Naturalization fee.

The majority of applicants are required to pay a $680 fee; that fee includes an $85 biometric fee and the $595 naturalization fee.

If you wish to pay this fee with a credit card, you’ll need to file a Form G-1450, Authorization for Credit Card Transaction. According to the USCIS, the White House Task Force on New Americans recommended this enhancement.

As of Nov. 16, you can only use the Form G-1450 to pay for the Form N-400 filing fee.

While all of the USCIS forms are free and downloadable at uscis.gov/forms, if you wish to apply for citizenship, the USCIS recommends that you do not handle this process alone, that you seek help from a professional, such as a Plano immigration attorney from The Zendeh Del Law Firm, who is authorized in the United States to give legal immigration advice.

Contacting our immigration firm will also ensure that you don’t fall victim to any immigration scams.
