According to the Empire-Tribune, a major drug raid lead by the Drug Enforcement Agency ended with 32 arrests, most of which were from Erath County. A criminal complaint states that investigation dates back to 2008 but focuses on incidents marked between 2011 and 2012. 32 people were arrested in connection with the crime. All were charged with conspiracy to distribute in an alleged methamphetamine operation.

Most of the operation was centered in Erath County. According to the complaint filed back in 2008, the operation was supplying drugs to individuals throughout Texas in a variety of different cities.
