Fiancée Charged with the Murder of 2-Year-Old Girl

An engaged couple in an apartment in Plano recently mourned the loss of their two-year-old girl. The child was the man's daughter, but had no relation to his fiancée. The woman had become the child's full-time caretaker while her fiancé was at work.

Recently, there was an attack in the apartment, and the little girl was discovered with duct tape over her mouth. She was on life support for three days before police declared her dead. The fiancée with the initials M.M. told the police that an assault occurred. Her account of the story alleges that an intruder broke into the home and harmed her. The intruder then taped up the two-year-old child.

Police investigated the scene of the crime but discovered evidences that contradicted her story. Several detectives claim that they received contradicting details about the story. The police also learned that the woman purchased silver duct tape, nylon cable ties, kitchen shears and some cotton swabs at a Dollar Store in Plano only an hour before the attack. The toddler was with her caretaker when the purchases were made.

The woman was arrested shortly after this discovery. At the time of the child's death, her biological mother and her father were fighting over custody. Child Protective Services admits that they were called to investigate situations at the toddler's home four times prior to her death. In two of the instances the family was referred for counseling.

The police later discovered that M.M. and her fiancé where in the process of breaking up when the incident occurred. M.M. created a dramatic façade, hoping she could shift blame to an anonymous attacker. She even made it appear as if she had been sexually assaulted and as if the child had been assaulted in this way as well. This murder case will continue investigation for several months.
