Texas Man Accused of Setting Woman on Fire

A man from Azle, Texas is accused of setting his girlfriend on fire purposefully this past weekend when the two got into a horrific dispute. The alleged offender has been charged with aggravated assault for his actions and remains in the Parker County Jail at present. His bail has not been set.

The incident allegedly occurred around 7:00 p.m. The victim was discovered by neighbors when she screamed at them outside, claiming that her boyfriend had set her on fire. She was rushed to the hospital for treatment of her burn wounds. The woman had to be airlifted because her injuries were extensive and life-threatening.

When the authorities showed up at the victim's residency, the defendant claimed that he knew why they were there. He says that he lost his mind and that is why he chose to ignite his girlfriend. After investigating the scene, officials noted that the back seat of a 2005 Saturn in the driveway appeared to be burned and was dripping with water. There were also burn marks in the backyard along with two empty gasoline cans. The woman is in an induced coma and suffered first and second-degree burns all over her body.
