Richardson Man Accused of Killing 1-Year-Old in a Hit-and-Run is Arrested

DALLAS – A Richardson man who is accused of killing a one-year-old boy in a hit-and-run crash last month has been arrested, according to Dallas Police.

Earlier this month, S. Flynn, 42, was extradited from East Texas and charged with failure to stop and render aid, and manslaughter.

The defendant allegedly ran a red light on the night of Jan. 11 and ran his Dodge pickup into a Toyota Camry at the intersection of Chimney Hill Lane and Audelia Road. After the collision, he got out of his truck and fled the scene on foot, said the police.

The one-year-old boy, N. Ramirez, was sitting in the back seat of the Camry. He was seriously injured and transported to a nearby hospital. He died of his injuries on Jan. 14.

Eyewitnesses told the police that they had seen the Dodge speed past them and run through other red lights before crashing into the Camry.

The police investigation led to a woman who told the detectives that the defendant had been drinking alcohol at her apartment on the night of the crash on Jan. 11, according to his arrest warrant affidavit.

She told the detectives that later that evening, he returned to her apartment and told her that he had been involved in an accident. When she asked if he checked to see if anyone in the other vehicle was hurt, he told her no.

The woman told the police that the defendant took off and waited until things died down before paying someone $100 to bring him back to her apartment.

The U.S. Marshals Service hunted down the defendant and found him in East Texas, where he was extradited to North Texas, said Dallas police. The defendant, who has a history of burglary of a habitation, evading arrest, and drug possession, is being held in Dallas County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bail.
