Since terrorist attacks and political upheaval take place throughout the world and often without warning, U.S. citizens are strongly urged to be vigilant when travelling abroad, especially in certain countries. Stay Aware of Terrorist Threats

The Department of State warns travelers that extremists and terrorists are attacking people in the following places: schools, parks, shopping malls, markets, airports, hotels, clubs, restaurants, and other public places where people gather. “Private U.S. citizens should not travel to any country to participate in armed conflict,” says the Department of State. Some of the more dangerous countries at this point in time include: East Asia and Pacific, Turkey, Ukraine, North Africa, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, and many others.
